Geko
Unique piece blown by Chris Rochelle - CMOG / Corning Museum of Glass.
Photography - Geray Mena
Two primary shaped vases become a unique piece that wraps around its contents. The colour gradient to dark green gives the piece a liquid reflection and the brand of the craftsman. Water takes the shape of the container, just as glass takes the desired shape as it is blown.
My piece is a metaphor that reveals how women; assigned to be ductile and soft like water; it reveals itself hiding its transparency in a transition that not only contains, but also reflects.
Approximate dimensions: Ø 20 x h40cm
